the next day we drove through the new forest and around some of the smaller coastal towns. the new forest is a national park where wild horses roam free, so naturally it had to be done. i made all sorts of high-pitched squealy noises while we watched the babies play and the adults graze. we could walk around the horses but there were signs warning us not to touch them, which was justified when some lady got bit after attempting to pet one. the day started out dreary but we managed to outdrive the rain and the rest of the afternoon was lovely.
next we stopped in lymington to walk around the high street and the harbor. here you can catch a ferry to the isle of wight, which i will have to do on another visit.
