we spent the last week of june in cornwall with dan’s family. the number one thing i wanted to do this trip was trek out to st. michael’s mount, a castle on a tidal island, as last year we only had time to view it from the beach. we drove over with dan’s sister and her boyfriend and took a tour of the castle and gardens. it was lovely! there is also one in normandy, which i don’t know how i missed before, but it looks even more impressive and has been added to my list of things to see.
at low tide you can walk across the causeway, otherwise you have to take a ferry. photographs look much cooler with the high tide, but it’s so much more convenient to walk across as it’s not a large distance.
there were so many gorgeous plants and i don’t know how half of them survive in the british climate. you can see photos from our cornwall trip last summer here, including photos of st. michael’s mount at high tide.
